He is known for his quick service and quality work with reasonable prices, having successfully repaired thousands of various light fixtures, table lamps and more for customers with over 40 years of experience.

03 OUR History
It all began in the early 1950’s
It all began back in the early 1950’s when John & Lillian Mills and their seven children opened Mills Light House on 99 Ashley Street in Hamilton, Ontario.
The Mills Family specialized in retail and commercial Lighting & Electrical Supplies for Decorators/Designers and Electrical Contractors along with a large on-site manufacturing foundry making custom lighting and church lighting shipped across Canada and the globe with over forty plus employees and family members.
Few of us realize just how well known the Mills Light House Family was across Canada. If you’ve never been to Dundurn Castle, Whithern, a church service the Parliment buildings or Toronto’s Pantages Theatre, you’ve missed out on some of the best work the Mills Light House Family has ever produced.
Entering the business at a young age of thirteen years old Bruce Mills started at the very beginning cleaning warehouses and the factory floors part time and on the weekends with always asking his Grandfather, John Mills, “When can I start selling to customers on our Electrical Distribution Counter and Lighting Showrooms like the rest of the staff?”
He replied, “DO THIS RIGHT FIRST!” I never forgot what my Grandfather said to me that day. At the young age of fifteen, I was selling in our Lighting Showroom and Electrical Counter and then moved up to Outside Commercial Lighting & Electrical Sales in my early twenties.
These are the same principles we stand by today that has made First Call Lighting a trusted name throughout Hamilton and surrounding areas.
A special thanks to my Gramps, Dad and Uncles for all there expert knowledge they have passed on to me in the lighting industry.

Bruce has done an excellent job rewiring three of my lamps, all with unique characteristics being vintage lamps from the 1960's and 70's...
... The one light which exceeded my expectations was the work he did on my vintage “flood light” that required special attention and was pretty complex to get rewired. I was very impressed! Highly recommend his services for non Hamilton residents like myself. It's worth the drive to Hamilton to get your lighting repaired.
